The film portrays Cazuza’s short and wild life from the beginning of his career, in 1981, until his death, in 1990, at the age of 32: his success with the Barão Vermelho Band, his solo career, the songs that voiced the hopes of a generation, his rebellious behavior and his courage to go on with his career, creating and performing even when debilitated by Aids. It’s the path of an artist to whom time doesn’t stop.
More than a million Brazilians have seen the film about one of the most popular and promiscuous pop stars ever in the country. Cazuza, born Agenor de Miranda Araujo Neto, was for many a picture of the romantic hero in the 1980´s. He was openly gay and among the leading rebels under the dictatorship. Cazuza died of HIV in 1990 but his music still lives. The film is filled with his music and enthusiasm.
